Scripting the breakthrough plot - KTPL do it again.

Introducing Operating Room of the Future - By combining MR & Focused Ultrasound

KTPL is pleased to announce their collaboration with Insightec, a very innovative Israeli technology company, covering marketing, sale and clinical research with  InSightec's Novel Magnetic Resonance (MR) guided Focused Ultrasound Surgery (MRgFUS)  system. This revolutionary technology delivers high-intensity ultrasound energy to the tumour,  benign or malignant,  under MR image guidance to create thermal energy exceeding thermal dose threshold required for protein denaturation or coagulative necrosis of lesion.  This young technology ensures MR visualization and thermometry feedback for a truly incisionless non-invasive treatment with surgical precision.

As earlier said  Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used to control the whole process, including targeting of fibroids/tumour, online real-time temperature mapping of the target site as the energy is applied and assessment of the extent of treatment achieved at the end of the procedure. MRgFUS has  USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for uterine fibroid treatment and is CE marked for treatment of bone metastases.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Amardeep Sethi, Chief Executive Officer, KTPL said "This is a cutting edge technology and substantial work in the field is underway covering modules for the treatment of Breast, Liver, Prostate and Brain tumours using this non-ionizing radiation which has the potential to revolutionize the cancer treatment.

Oded Tamir, Chief Operating Officer, Insightec and Amardeep Sethi, C.E.O., KTPL signing the agreement. Also seen standing behind are Roni Yagel, V.P. Marketing & Business Development, Insightec and Animesh, V.P. Marketing & Business Development, KTPL.
