Introducing a new phase in Interventional Cardiology

New Delhi: November 12, 2010: Interventional Cardiology will witness a new phase with the launch of MGuard™, India’s first mesh based coronary stent, by Kirloskar Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (KTPL). The newly introduced MGuard™ Coronary Stent System is manufactured by InspireMD, Ltd. an innovative medical device company focused on the development and deployment of its proprietary stent system technology.

The launch of MGuard™ is followed by a Live Surgery at the Medicity Hospital, Gurgaon. The MGuard™ Coronary Stent System presents a novel combination of a coronary stent merged with an embolic protection device. The embolic protection device is comprised of an ultra-thin polymer mesh protective sleeve, wrapped around the stent. The protective sleeve is designed to expand seamlessly when the stent is deployed, without affecting the structural integrity of the stent, and to prevent plaque detachment during and post procedure. The MGuard™ Coronary Stent System provides long acting embolic protection, without adding complexity to the deliverability. The sleeve is designed to diffuse stent pressure on the vessel wall, thereby reduce injury and lower the likelihood of restenosis.
